Friday, February 8, 2026, was the 25th anniversary of Disney California Adventure. This day was celebrated with a commemorative map, new character outfits, the return of Soarin’ Over California, and more (read about it here). In the days surrounding this milestone anniversary, Daps Magic has been looking back and some of the fun memories that were made in Disney California Adventure through the years. This has included attractions, entertainment, and today a land.
A Bug’s Land opened in 2002 in Disney California Adventure. It was inspired by the Pixar film A Bug’s Life from 1998. The conceit of the area was that people were shrunk down to the side of bugs while they were there. In the land, they could experience the following attractions: Flik’s Flyers, Francis’ Ladybug Boogie, Tuck and Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies, and Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train. Guests could also experience It’s Tough to Be a Bug, which was already in the park before the addition of this land. The land closed in 2018 to make way for Avengers Campus.
Before the closure of A Bug’s Land, the Daps Magic team went on a walking tour of this land (there are also ride POVs on the Daps Magic YouTube Channel). Take a stroll through this extinct land as it was before it said goodbye.
