On this day in 2005, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ feature film was released in the United States by Touchstone Pictures. ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide’ is a sci-fi comedy that was based on a book series, which itself was based on a BBC radio sitcom. Arthur Dent, played by Martin Freeman, is whisked into space by a friend right before the Earth is destroyed.
