The cast of Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building continues to fill out. Recently, it was revealed that Logan Lerman had joined the cast. This followed after announcements that Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, and Keegan-Michael Key were also on board for this next season. Now, Variety has confirmed that Jermaine Fowler has joined the cast for this season in a recurring role. As is often the case with Only Murders in the Building, the specifics for Jermaine Fowler’s role remain unknown.
Jermaine Fowler is a successful stand-up comedian. He made it onto television on the CBS multi-cam show, Superior Donuts. He also has appeared on A Murder at the End of the World, Friends of the People, and will soon be seen on Tracy Morgan’s Crutch. On the silver screen, Fowler has starred in films like Coming 2 America, Sorry to Bother You, Judas and the Black Messiah, and Ricky Stanicky.
There isn’t a lot known about what will be happening in Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. It is known that Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short, along with Michael Cyril Creighton will be returning for the new season. They will presumably be focusing on solving the mystery of the murder of Lester at the end of Season 4.

Season 4 saw Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, Jane Lynch, Richard Kind, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, and Molly Shannon joining them on a storyline that took these podcasting sleuths to California and then back to New York. The third season of the series picked up 21 Emmy nominations. Martin and John Hoffman are the co-creators of the series. Hoffman is also the showrunner. Both are also executive producers for the show along with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
The fifth season of Only Murders in the Building is currently in production in New York. 20th Century is the studio that is producing this series. It will ultimately end up streaming on Hulu.
