On this day in 1961, actor and comedian Eddie Murphy was born. Murphy is best known in Disney circles for voicing the dragon Mushu in ‘Mulan’ and for playing Jim Evers in the 2003 ‘Haunted Mansion’ movie. Murphy turned down the role of Eddie Valiant in ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit,’ which he later regretted. He was also considered to voice the Genie in ‘Aladdin’ and as a host of “Creature’s Choice Awards,” an unbuilt attraction at Disney-MGM Studios.
