Disneyland Paris has shared a look at what the parks are like through the eyes of a guide dog. This was done in celebration of International Guide Dog Day, which is April 30. This comes as Disneyland Paris continues to focus on being an accessible destination for its guests. Take a look at Disneyland Paris through the eyes of a guide dog below.
One Day at Disneyland Paris Through the Eyes of a Guide Dog
This April 30 – International Guide Dog Day, and World Mobility and Accessibility Day – follow the furry companion of a visually impaired guest at Disneyland Paris!
The resort has been focused on accessibility since its opening in 1992, welcoming even more guests with disabilities and long-term illnesses each year – more than 200,000 access cards were provided in 2023 alone as part of the MagicALLprogram.
Some of our guests are accompanied by guide dogs or assistance dogs, who also benefit from accommodations tailored to their needs. Népal, an 8-year-old Labrador, and his owner Jean-Pierre put them to the test:
Disneyland Paris allows guide and assistance dogs in 40 attractions and shows, and continues working to make the guest experience even more accessible for those who are visually impaired – audio description became available in 2022, followed by tactile and audio tablets in 2023 to help guests find their way and move around independently.
The resort’s actions have been recognized by the National Association of Guide Dog Owners in France – Association Nationale des Maîtres de Chiens Guides – which awarded Disneyland Paris the Accessibility Trophy in 2023.
