Actress Michelle Trachtenberg has passed away at the age of 39. She was most known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl. She was found by her mother in her apartment in New York City on Wednesday morning ABC News reported.
Trachtenberg reportedly recently had a liver transplant. It is possible that there were some complications. It is believed that she died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.
Michelle Trachtenberg was born in New York City on October 11, 1985. She started her acting career at a very young age. This started with commercials and then she landed a role on All My Children. She went on to appear on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete. She also appeared in the Discovery children’s series Truth or Scare, for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy. Her first big-screen role was in the lead for Harriet the Spy.
In 1999, she appeared in Disney’s Inspector Gadget as Penny. She also appeared in Disney’s Ice Princess in 2005 as Casey Carlyle. She also kept busy working on other television shows throughout her life and career appearing on shows like House, Weeds, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Sleepy Hollow. She also lent her voice to animated projects including Robot Chicken and Max’s recent reboot of Gossip Girl in 2023.
