Ahsoka Tano Day Celebration

Star Wars Fans Brave a Rainy Night to Celebrate Ahsoka Tano at Disneyland

January 29th is Ahsoka Tano Day. This is an unofficial fan holiday that commemorates the day that Ahsoka was first introduced in 2008 in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The character was created by Dave Filoni, named by George Lucas, and voiced in various animated series by Ashley Eckstein. When the character made the jump to live-action, Rosario Dawson took on the role.

Over the weekend, there were two celebrations of Ahsoka Tano Day in Disney theme parks. On Saturday Ashley Eckstein was joined by Star Wars fans in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to celebrate the day. The group was joined by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro and his family as well. Ashley posted pictures and the following statement on her Instagram.

17 years ago on January 29th, 2008 Ahsoka Tano was introduced to the world. I’ll never forget the excitement I felt when I could FINALLY share the secret that I had been keeping for two years! I had been recording episodes of Star Wars The Clone Wars for two years and I had fallen in love with this character who had already taken a piece of my heart and soul

As I attended the @swgediscord Ahsoka Tano Day Lightsaber Meet-Up @waltdisneyworld this past weekend, it brought me SO much joy to see how Ahsoka has a place in your hearts too

As we celebrate #AhsokaTano Day tomorrow, do something that Ahsoka would do. Help someone, do something kind, be selfless, work hard and be a little snippy

#AhsokaLivesInAllOfUs and I’m so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us @waltdisneyworld & @disneyland including our surprise guests @joshdamaro and his family!

The following night at Disneyland, a similar get-together was held. Star Wars fans braved a rainy and cold night in Southern California to celebrate Ahsoka Tano. The moment was special and beautiful as the light of lightsabers reflected off the shimmering ground. The Daps Magic team was on hand to capture this moment. It can be seen here:
