Disney guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort this summer will get to experience a new show full of some of their favorite Disney villains. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After was announced last summer at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Ahead of the debut of this show, Disney shared new concept art today.
The concept art shows the Magic Mirror in the center of the stage. On the stage is Captain Hook brandishing his sword with Cruella and Maleficent standing nearby appearing to pose.
Disney provided more details about the show saying:
If you asked them, our villains would probably try to convince you that they’ve been treated pretty unfairly over the years. In this show, the Magic Mirror has summoned us to hear them out. Never ones to let a dramatic performance pass them by, fiendish foes Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent will break through the glass and take the stage to prove once and for all why they are the most misunderstood. In the end, it will be on you to make the final call in a delightfully wicked finale filled with dozens of the most infamous evildoers awaiting your decision from within the Mirror’s realm.
Disney also shared a look at an artist working on concept art for the Magic Mirror. The Magic Mirror first debuted in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. The mirror made appearances in various programs through the years including The House of Mouse on television and Fantasmic! in the Disney Parks. This new role will bring the Magic Mirror front and center once again, just like in Snow White.
The team behind Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After has been hard at work on this project for two years. It will include cutting-edge stage design, thrilling effects, and of course some catchy live musical numbers. All of this will be to celebrate some of the most beloved villains. Disney promises that there will be “drama, there will be laughs, there will be something for everyone.”
An exact opening date hasn’t been shared for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. What do you think of what you are seeing of this show so far? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
