Disney Lookout Cay is the Disney Cruise Line’s newest private island location in the Bahamas. Guests who visit it get to experience the beautiful beaches, Disney entertainment, along with the spirit and culture of The Bahamas. One of the traditions found on the chain of islands in their region is Junkanoo. Disney shared the following about this tradition:
Junkanoo is the signature festival of The Bahamas, and its vibrant singing, dancing and drumming comes to life in big ways at Disney Lookout Cay. First, visit the Goombay Cultural Center to learn about the tradition and craft your own costume at the “Sights and Sounds of Junkanoo” family workshop. Then, join in the parade! Don your colorful costume and move to the beat of The Bahamas at RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay, where local Junkanooers sweep you up in the beloved celebration. Mickey Mouse and Friends even join the fun!
Junkanoo is a treasure in the Bahamas, specifically at Disney Lookout Cay, thanks to Bahamian partners. This includes National Junkanoo Committee co-chairs Kishlane Smith and Warren Andrew Pinder who share more about the Junaknoo Celebration:
