On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Kathryn Hahn stepped up to the podium to help share the story of Christmas at Disneyland. She joined a mass choir, soloists, handbells, fanfare trumpeters, and orchestra all under the direction of Nancy Sulahian. This is a beloved annual tradition at the Disneyland Resort that dates back to the 50s. It generally takes place on the first weekend of December on Saturday night and Sunday night. This year, actor Kathryn Hahn was the celebrity narrator for the event.
Hahn, who recently appeared in Agatha All Along on Disney+, brought her performative talents to her reading. She spoke clearly and at times with excitement. Her face was animated throughout the event and enchanted the crowd watching in front of her. It clearly was something special for Hahn who excitedly wished everyone “Merry Christmas!” at the end of the processional.
Kathryn Hahn has quite a variety of performances in her resume. She has appeared on television, in movies, and also on the stage. Throughout the course of her career, she has appeared in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy, Step Brothers, and recently Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery on the silver screen. On the small screen, she has appeared in shows like Parks and Recreation, Mrs. Fletcher, and recently she starred in Tiny Beautiful Things for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. Disney/Marvel fans recognize her as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision and Agatha All Along. She has also lent her voice to multiple animated projects.
The evening was nearly perfect with stars and the moon shining in the sky above the processional. The music was beautiful and the narration was easy to hear and follow. It made for a lovely way to celebrate the spirit of the season!

The Candlelight Processional is a beloved tradition at the Disneyland Resort. It makes for a perfect kick-off for the Christmas season. While the holidays have already been celebrated for almost a month at the Disneyland Resort, for many in attendance, the Candlelight Processional weekend really kicks off the Christmas season for many people. Many also come back year after year to experience this beautiful event. If this year is the same as most years, Kathryn Hahn will also be narrating on Sunday night for two more performances of the Candlelight Processional.
