On this day in 1994, ‘Gargoyles’ debuted as part of the Disney Afternoon TV lineup. The main characters are 1,000 year old nocturnal creatures that turn to stone during the day. At night, they protect modern-day New York City. ‘Gargoyles’ was unique as Disney’s first animated drama series, known for its complex storylines.
