Jackie Russell, a wife, mother and sixth-grade math teacher who is a 2024 Orange County Public Schools Teacher of the Year nominee in Orlando! Jackie was nominated to receive a special trip to Walt Disney World to recognize her dedication to her students and the community.
Throughout her 17 years of teaching, she has inspired countless students through her innovative and inclusive teaching methods, helping them achieve one of the highest proficiency rates at her school.
Jackie created a mentoring program that helps students with their academic and personal growth and even started a YouTube channel where she provided math tutorials for students during the pandemic.
After enjoying a ride aboard the Jungle Cruise with her family, Adventurer Minnie Mouse, Adventurer Mickey Mouse, and Skipper Morgan surprised the Russell Family with the news that they will be sailing with Disney Cruise Line aboard the new Disney Treasure!
On Disney’s new ship, the Disney Treasure, the Russell Family will recognize the familiar sights and sounds from their Jungle Cruise adventure at the Skipper Society, the one-of-a-kind lounge inspired by the Jungle Cruise attractions from Disney Parks around the world.
With tributes to skippers and their many adventures on the Nile, Amazon, Congo and other famous waterways, Skipper Society is the perfect place for guests to trek beyond the backside of water.
Jackie and her family will soon set sail on the Disney Treasure during its inaugural season. The Disney Treasure will unlock the far-reaching realms of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel and embrace dynamic tales from beloved Disney Parks attractions, through captivating and immersive experiences on the high seas.
The Disney Treasure will be taking its inaugural cruise with guests on December 21, 2024. It will take adventurers on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida. This will be followed by an inaugural season seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Cruises aboard the Disney Treasure can be booked through Mouseways Travel, the official travel partner of Daps Magic.
