LEGO Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge

LEGO Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge Revealed

A new LEGO Star Wars set allows fans of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi to recreate Jabba’s Sail Barge. This new Ultimate Collector Series allows LEGO and Star Wars fans to set sail for the Dune Sea by building the Khetanna. This new LEGO set will be available in October.

Ahead of the arrival of this hyper-detailed LEGO set, Lucasfilm shared a first look at the Hutt’s luxury barge that includes 11 LEGO Star Wars minifigs.

With 11 LEGO Star Wars characters, this set is a treasure trove of minifigs for fans to collect. This includes:

  • Jabba the Hutt
  • Princess Lei Organa
  • Bib Fortuna
  • C-3PO
  • Max Rebo with his red ball jett organ
  • Kithaba
  • Vizam
  • Woof, a fierce Gamorrean Guard
  • Salacious B. Crumb, the Kawakian-monkey lizard
  • R2-D2, carrying a serving tray of drinks

Both Bizam and Wooof haven’t been given LEGO treatment before. Some of the other characters, like Max Rebo, have only been available on rare occasions previously.

When fans take a look inside the barge, LEGO senior designer César Carvalhosa Soares shared that some artistic license was taken to add more elements beyond the vessel’s interior as seen in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. “The entire top deck has several features like hatches and stairs, cannons, and blasters and, of course, the huge textile sails that give the barge its iconic silhouette,” Carvalhosa Soares shared with StarWars.com.

Below deck, there is a holding cell that is the perfect spot for keeping prisoners and certain smugglers who owe Jabba several thousand credits. Yes, that would be Han Solo. This is also where designers added a cockpit with controls and room for a pilot and co-pilot. This gives fans a better idea of how Jabba’s barge is flown. There are also hinged exterior panels that reveal a nook for Max Rebo to perform next to Jabba’s personal quarters. This includes a place to lounge and some other decor. The center of the building set has the galley kitchen now added. It is stocked with meats, dishes, and a cleaver.

The set is made of 3,942 pieces and is full of Easter eggs. It is a massive 30-inch-long set that is intended to be both playable and displayable.

The LEGO Jabba’s Sail Barge set will be available on October 6, 2024. It can be preordered now on the LEGO website. It will be on sale early for on sale to LEGO Insiders at LEGO.com beginning October 3.
