Disney is having a good year at the box office. Thanks to the successes of Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney has passed $4 billion at the global box office. This sets the company at the top box office spot globally this year. It also is in the lead domestically where it has brought in over $1.2 billion thanks to the efforts of its combined studios.
Inside Out 2 has been a box office juggernaut for the House of Mouse. The Pixar Animation Studios film has surpassed $1.67 billion globally. It recently passed Jurassic World to become the 8th most successful film of all time globally. Domestically it has brought in $650 million and is the 11th most successful film.
Deadpool & Wolverine has brought in over $1.29 billion globally. It’s the second biggest release in 2024, after Inside Out 2. It also is the most successful R-rated film of all time. On top of that, it’s the 7th most successful super hero film of all time. It also is the most successful film for both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
The success of these movies, along with several others for the company has made for a very good year for Disney. The year isn’t over, though. Moana 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King are both coming out later this year. Both of these movies have the potential to help push the company’s box office results even higher.
