Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ to Debut in December on Disney+

After a much-anticipated wait for information about when Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be released, Star Wars fans now have a fan. The series, starring Jude Law, will be arriving on Disney+ on December 3, 2024. Law will be portraying Jod Na Nawood in the new series. Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Wim), Kyriana Kratter (KB), Robert Timothy Smith (Neel) and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Fern) are the child actors in the show as well. He recently sat down with People to discuss the new coming-of-age series.

Law was asked about what people should expect with this new series. He said that “first word that comes to my mind” when describing the series is “joyful.” He also shared that viewers will see the children “maneuver through” places where they really shouldn’t be and adds that “seeing children in that environment in a Star Wars environment is thrilling and very, very unique.”

“It is a fun place to be, the universe of Star Wars,” he continued with a smile. “And there are great references to old films and recent episodes and series. There’s a lot of originality and I hope that will bring the feeling of fun to those who watch it.”

Basically, Law and the children are constantly “all in constant state of confusion and jeopardy and challenge.” He says that the series is “very much a piece about working together and overcoming fears and overcoming…perhaps [one’s] opinion of oneself or one’s own weaknesses in order to succeed.”

About his own character, Law said that Jod is “someone who uses quick thinking, charm and conversation to get out of all sorts of scenarios.”

There was also some other information shared about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. For example, there will be a cranky old robot named SM 33 who is voiced by Nick Frost. Not only cranky, the robot is rusty and is only reluctantly helping the children. He is also the first mate on a mysterious ship.

Along with SM 33, there will also be many nods to the bigger Star Wars universe with easter eggs found throughout the series. This isn’t just a show for Star Wars fans though, everyone should be able to enjoy it. It can be an entry point for Star Wars fans or something that longtime fans will also enjoy!
