A new cart has opened in the Downtown Disney District. Big Boi Lumpia announced it had soft-opened on July 3rd, as the Disneyland Resort celebrates the 4th of July throughout the weekend. This also comes as the United States of America celebrates its 250th anniversary. As Disney Celebrates America, Big Boi Lumpia is celebrating by serving new guests at the Disneyland Resort location.

The soft opening sees Chef Barb bring her famous lumpia to The Happiest Place on Earth. Guests can enjoy classic savory and sweet flavors that are served with their signature dipping sauces. Below is the official announcement heralding the opening.

The Big Boi Lumpia website shares its history. After establishing B Sweet, her catering company, dessert trucks, and dessert bar, Chef Barb Batiste is bringing her savory cooking to the masses. Her primary focus is Filipino food! Chef Barb has been making Filipino food with her mom, aunt, and grandma since she was a little girl. The Big Boi menu features Chef Barb’s versions of Filipino classic recipes and her childhood favorites.

Filipino cuisine is growing more popular in the food world, but the question still lingers: What exactly is it? The cuisine draws inspiration from the Spanish culture. The typically sweet, salty, and sour ingredients come together to accommodate nearly every palate. It is so hard to describe the cuisine with just one dish since it is so diverse, but no list of Filipino food would be complete without Adobo, the national dish of the Philippines.
