The 2024 Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite is a special hard-ticketed event that is being offered at Disneyland on June 18 and 20, 2024. Both nights of this event are sold out. The event is billed as a “proud celebration” where everyone can “come together with family, allies and friends to enjoy an unforgettable and fun-filled evening that recognizes and embraces the LGBTQIA+ community.”

For fans of Disney characters, this is a great event for scoping out characters. Many of these are rarer characters that don’t show up super often in the parks. An evening at a Disneyland After Dark event often becomes a Disney character scavenger hunt! It can also be a test to see how fast people can make their way throughout the park in an effort to not only find them, but see them and meet them as well! To be completely honest, it is nearly impossible to try and meet every character that is found at a Disneyland After Dark event. For Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse thankfully came out early at 7:00 PM on the first evening. This made it a bit easier to see the characters that are found throughout the park through the event! Below is a look at where to find all of the characters during this event. This is followed by some tips for meeting characters. We hope you find this helpful!

Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite Character Tips

To get the most out of the night’s events and offerings, it is always a good idea to come up with a plan. As you are building your plan, prioritize what characters you really want to meet, which ones you want to see, and which ones you are ok missing. Then, use the priorities to strategize what characters you want to see and when. Keep in mind when different entertainment offerings are happening. If a cavalcade, fireworks, or other show is happening, this can sometimes lead to shorter lines for characters. If you want to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, do this at the very beginning of the event or toward the end. Lines tend to be the shortest right when the come out or right before they leave.

Another thing to remember is that not all characters will remain out at the same time. Some characters swap with each other approximately every half hour. Keep this in mind and be flexible with your plans if characters you want to see aren’t out at the moment you want to see them. Kindly ask a host for the characters at one of these locations and they may be able to direct you as to when to return.

Other Disney Character Opportunities

If you want to see Disney characters at this event but don’t want to traipse around the park or wait in line, there are a couple of other opportunities. There is the Welcome Pride Cavalcade at 9:50 PM and 11:40 PM along the parade route. In this you can see the following characters:

  • Mickey Mouse
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Daisy Duck
  • Donald Duck
  • Goofy
  • Clarabelle Cow
  • Pluto

There are two show stops for this cavalcade. One is on Main Street, USA and the other is in front of it’s a small world. At each of these locations, they do a variation of the show stop from Parade of Dreams.

Another opportunity to see a group of characters is at the Fond Farewell at the end of the night. This begins at 12:40 AM and has the characters and performers from the Welcome Pride Cavalcade up on the steps of Main Street, USA Station. This ends with the conclusion of the event at 1:00 AM when the characters depart.
