Pixar Fest is in full force at the Disneyland Resort. With this celebration of all that is Pixar, there are plenty of fun things to do for the whole family. There is entertainment, characters, merchandise, food, and event a scavenger hunt (which is one of my favorites) to be enjoyed during a day at the resort! Throughout the day and into the evening these offerings give plenty of options for Pixar fans to enjoy. One of the offerings in the evening is Club Pixar.
Found at the Hollywood Backlot, Club Pixar runs each day from 4:30 – 8:30 PM. It has a variety of things to do with different things connecting with different ages. First off, it is a dance party. Favorite tunes are remixed and played throughout the night. A DJ adds a bit of Disney magic from a console above the Hollywood Backlot Stage. The stage comes to life throughout the evening with Pixar moments. These moments are connected with moments from movies with a scene being shown first. This leads to dancers coming to the stage. Sometimes the dancers entertain, other times they lead dancing. Below is a look at some of these moments as captured by the Daps Magic team on the opening weekend:

Off to the side from the main stage, there are other options to enjoy as well. Along with the food and beverages found at the Studio Catering Co. (try the nachos!), and Hollywood Lounge, there is a lovely seating area set up. Some of the tables and chairs fill the area between the Hollywood Lounge and Studios Catering Co. However, the best seating options are in the form of cars that allow for sitting and watching Pixar shorts on a big screen. The area looks like a little drive-in theater. It is very cute and very fun. There are also some favorite Pixar shorts that can be watched while sitting there.
Club Pixar Games
To the sides of the Pixar drive-in theater area, there are games to be played. In fact, there are six games to played. Each of these games is connected with a Pixar short! This has turned out to be a surprise hit for guests of all ages. On Sunday last week, two young boys were playing chess on a massive chess board inspired by Geri’s Game, with the help of multiple others standing around the game. There were other kids, adults, and even cast members all very much invested in this game. It really was endearing!
Photo Opportunities at Club Pixar
The area also has some adorable photo opportunities to be enjoyed. Two of the more prominent photo ops are themed to Wall-E and Buzz Lightyear’s wings. There is also a photo op nearby themed to The Incredibles. During the day, Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl meet with guests here. All of these photo opportunities give chances for capture memories together or solo.
A Few Tips:
Club Pixar can be a fun place to hang out and enjoy an evening at Disney California Adventure. There are a few things to know to get the most out of it. It starts at 4:30 PM, right after the first showing of Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration parade. This seems to be the busiest time to visit Club Pixar. If you wait a little bit longer, there is a little bit more room. During the second showing of the parade, the dance/stage area is basically empty. The rest of the area is also quite a bit more open. If you are looking to take photos with the photo ops, grab some food or a beverage, find a seat to watch the shorts, or play some of the games, this is a very good time to arrive. The ideal way to play it is to show up shortly before the 6:30 PM parade starts so it is easier to navigate the area around Club Pixar. Then, enjoy Club Pixar during the parade. Take note that during the parade, there is nothing happening on the stage. These offerings resume after the parade.
An evening at Club Pixar can be a fun stop on a day at the parks. It can be fun for enjoying all the offerings or just some of them. Different parts of Club Pixar will most likely appeal to different people. This can work out well for families. Club Pixar will be available to enjoy throughout Pixar Fest until it ends on August 4, 2024.
