With Pixar Fest just a little over a month away, the Disneyland Resort has released new details about this celebration of all that is Pixar. Pixar Fest runs from April 26, 2024 through August 4, 2024. It will include new offerings and also the return of some beloved ones that will be getting a few enhancements. Below is a look at 10 things that Disneyland Resort has shared about Pixar Fest this year:
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade
Disney California Adventure is getting a new parade that will be offered twice a day. Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade has been created by Disney Live Entertainment. It will include high-energy dancing and over two dozen Pixar characters. During the parade, Pixar fans will see characters like Red Panda Mei and her friends as they rock out to 4*Town. Joe Gardner and 22 from Soul will be making appearances as will Alberto and Giulia from Luca as they enjoy time near the water’s edge in Portorosso. The grand finale of this parade will feature Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl from The Incredible, Miguel from Coco, Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc., and also Woody, Jessi, and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story franchise.
Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular
Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular is returning to light up the nights at Disneyland. This nighttime spectacular will return with some familiar moments along with some new scenes as it takes guests on the “emotional journey of friendship with Pixar pals as they meet for the first time, set out on adventures, overcome adversity and in the end, forge everlasting bonds.” Along with fan-favorite moments like Miguel strumming his guitar and the house from Up floating over Sleeping Beauty Castle, there also promises to be some new scenes. This includes moments and characters from Onward, Soul, Luca, Turning Red, and even elemental!
This show will again use vivid projections, colorful laser, and memorable music. Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular can be enjoyed from many different spots at Disneyland including it’s a small world, the Rivers of America, and Main Street, USA. On most evenings, the show will include fireworks. Be sure to check either Disneyland.com or the Disneyland app for showtimes and details on if there will be fireworks included.
As an added bit of magic, MagicBand+ will interact with the show with lights and vibrations that are synced to the music.
Club Pixar at the Hollywood Backlot in Disney California Adventure
Club Pixar will be coming to the Hollywood Backlot in Disney California Adventure during the nights of Pixar Fest. This will be a nighttime party that is inspired by Pixar stories. It will include an interactive DJ dance party, live performances, games, photo opportunities, themed food, and specialty crafted beverages to name a few of the offerings. During the day, there will be places to take photos in front of Pixar-themed backdrops, play games, and also meet with characters.
Pixar Pals Playtime Party at Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theatre
Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland will be coming to life with the Pixar Pals Playtime Party daily. Families will be able to dance and play with their favorite Pixar Pals for this offering. It will include a high-energy show, interactive games, photo locations, and also activities inspired by Pixar films. There will also be a selection of Pixar shorts that will be shown on the big screen.
Pixar-Themed Foods and Marketplaces
What would a festival be at the Disneyland Resort without themed foods and marketplaces? In this case, the festival foods and beverages won’t be just found in Disney California Adventure, but around the whole Disneyland Resort. Not all the food and beverage offerings are being announced yet. However, there are a few announcements. First off, the Pixar Fest cake will be returning to Disneyland’s Plaza Inn. Over at the Troubadour Inn, the menu will be transformed to include Pixar-themed items. In Disney California Adventure, Paradise Garden Grill will have a menu inspired by the Coco.
Starting on May 10th, festival marketplaces will be appearing at Disney California Adventure for Pixar Fest. There will be six marketplaces that will be themed to different Pixar films. They are as follows:
- Portorosso Pasta – Inspired by Luca, this will offer summertime dishes inspired by the Italian coast
- Gusteau’s To-Go – Inspired by Ratatouille, it will offer reimagined classics
- The Elemental Table – Inspired by Elemental, this will have a playful mélange of elements
- 4*Town Fav*4*ites – Inspired by Turning Red, this location promises to have “fun foods perfect for a tween, boy band (or anyone, really!)”
- The Spark – Inspired by Soul, this location will have feel good soul food.
- Hanger Management – Inspired by Inside Out, find foods to fuel the emotions here
Disney promises that the full lineup of food and beverage offerings will be coming soon. Daps Magic will continue to watch for this and share when they are announced.
Pixar Character Encounters
Throughout both parks at the Disneyland Resort, there will be opportunities to meet with Pixar characters. This will include characters from Inside Out or The Incredibles along with Ember and Wade from Elemental. Pixar Fest will be their debut at the Disneyland Resort.
Novelties
There will be quite a few fun novelties offered during Pixar Fest as well. The first one that has been annoounced is a Pizza Planet truck that is also a popcorn bucket! Disney promises that more novelties will be announced soon.
Pixar Merchandise
There will be some incredible Pixar merchandise found throughout the Disneyland Resort during Pixar Fest. There will be collections coming throughout the festival that will include merchandise like Pizza Planet baseball caps to Mike Wazowski sweatshirts. There will also be limited-time Pixar Fest merchandise arriving at the Disneyland Resort in April.
There will also be some medallions to be found throughout the Disneyland Resort that will be themed to favorite Pixar films. This includes classics like Toy Story and a Bug’s Life or newer films like Lightyear and Elemental that will have medallions to be available to be collected.
Decorations
The Disneyland Resort will be decorated for Pixar Fest. This will include brightly-colored banners, sculptures (that also double as photo locations) and more! All of these will be inspired by Pixar stories. In the esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, there will be a new sculpture that is over 25 feet tall! It will celebrate friendship and highlight the iconic Pixar Ball. There will also be a Pixar-themed installation found in Disney California Adventure that MagicBand+ will be able to interact with.
Pixar Fest in Downtown Disney District
Downtown Disney District will also be celebrating Pixar Fest. It will have its own decorations throughout the district. There will also be photo opportunities that celebrate Pixar stories, Pixar-inspired menu items at some of the dining locations, and of course there will be merchandise to be enjoyed as well!
