New Name and Logo Revealed for Former Reedy Creek Fire Department

Yesterday, a new logo and name was revealed for the former Reedy Creek Fire Department. At a special event, Fire Chief Ferrari revealed that the fire department is now known simply as District Fire Department. The new name was determined by a vote of all 220 public safety personnel in the department.

Chief Ferrari said during the event, “Today, we wholeheartedly embrace change, drawing upon the same unwavering determination that has defined our response to every call for service. Our freshly minted name and emblem signify not just a new chapter but an entirely revitalized narrative. We stand as custodians of countless cherished memories, guardians of the thousands who contribute to the magic that defines our community. Our dedication to providing world-class service and serving as a beacon within the fire service industry remains resolute and untarnished.”

The new logo and name for the fire department comes as the future of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (formerly Reedy Creek Improvement District) is very much in question. Currently there are multiple lawsuits at the state level and federal level that could determine what the future of the district looks like. The lawsuits come after Governor Ron DeSantis went on the offensive against Disney after the company came out against legislation he supported. This led to the Reedy Creek Improvement District being dissolved and then the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District being put in its place. The new district has a board that is appointed by the Florida Governor.

The District Fire Department serves the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. Most of Walt Disney World Resort can be found within this district. What do you think of the new name and logo for this fire department? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
