On this day in 1996, ‘Mr. Holland’s Opus’ was released in the United States by Disney’s Hollywood Pictures. The film follows Glenn Holland, a composer who strives to make his mark on the world, but takes a job as a high school music teacher to make ends meet. Over the years, Holland discovers that “life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans” and realizes that the impact he made on the world was through his students.
