The Disneyland Hotel tonight at the Disneyland Resort was impacted earlier tonight after the Anaheim Police Department was called for what turned out to be a hoax. People staying at the hotel were kept outside as police vehicles and helicopter converged on the area. This all happened as rain came down on the Disneyland Resort.
After it was determined that the report was a hoax, the Anaheim Police Department remained nearby as an added precaution. There is no threat to the Disneyland Resort or Disneyland Hotel. Jon McClintock of the Anaheim Police Department released the following statement on the incident:
Tonight, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Anaheim Police Department Officers received a report of an active shooter at or near the Disneyland Hotel prompting a significant police response. Responding Officers quickly determined the report was a hoax. Officers thoroughly checked the area and did not locate any evidence a shooting occurred. There is currently no threat to the Disneyland Resort or surrounding area.
There will be an increased police presence at the Disneyland Resort and surround area throughout the evening.
Safety is always a top priority at the Disneyland Resort. Any threat to the guests and cast members is taken quite seriously by both Disney and the Anaheim Police Department. There were no reports of injuries during the course of this incident. Daps Magic will continue to monitor this story and provide any updates if they develop.
