The Skies Over Disneyland Paris Come to Life With Fireworks and 1,495 Drones for Bastille Day Nighttime Spectacular

On July 14th France celebrates Bastille Day. This is the national day of France and is the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution. Disneyland Paris went all out with a spectacular fireworks show that also include a massive drone display. It included 1,495 drones. This show was billed as the largest drone show in Europe.

Along with fireworks and the incredible drone choreography, there were also lights included that brought the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle to life. It also highlighted the connection that is found between Disneyland Paris and France. The 1,495 drones that illuminated the sky represented some of the greatest symbols of French culture. This included the French flag, the Eiffel Tower, and even the rose window of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris!

This nighttime spectacular that celebrated Bastille Day also brought to life images found in stories that take place in France that came to life in Disney and Pixar movies. This included images from Beauty and the BeastThe Hunchback of Notre DameThe Aristocats and Ratatouille.

This Bastille Day nighttime spectacular continues Disneyland Paris’ trend of creating cutting edge entertainment for its guests by innovating new ways for storytelling. In this case, it came out of a collaboration between Disneyland Paris entertainment teams and a company called Dronisos. The company is Disneyland Paris’ official technology supplier and is based in Bordeaux and a European leader in drone shows. Disneyland Paris and Dronisos have been collaborating for more than four months on this show, and the results speak for themselves.

This is not the only collaboration between Disneyland Paris and Dronisos, however. The two companies created the Disney D-Light show, which is running until September 30th as a part of the Grand Finale of Disneyland Paris’ 30th anniversary. Over at Walt Disney Studios Park, Avengers: Power the Night will be returning on September 1st and continue through November 5, 2023.
