Disneyland Resort Announces Black Music Month Offerings

June is Black Music Month. Ahead of its arrival, the Disneyland Resort has announced that there will be multiple offerings throughout the resort to help celebrate. These will add to the Celebrate Soulfully offerings that are already being offered, including Tale of the Lion King in the Fantasyland Theatre.

Throughout the month of June for Black History Month, there will be nightly live band performances offered at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. This will include different genres that are featured throughout the week. Guests will be able to experience performances of Jazz Fusion, Caribbean, and Mid-Century Jazz. Throughout the month there are more than 17 different musical groups that are set to perform. Each group will perform four times a night.

Over at Hollywood Backlot Stage in Disney California Adventure, live music will be offered daily through June 30. This will include performances by Midnight Hour, Finesse and The Rhythm & Blues Brothas. At the Pool Deck at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, there will also be daily performances from DJ Quami, Island Reggae Duo, and da-light.

Beyond the incredible music offerings, the Disneyland Resort has some other things in store to celebrate the month. There will be some specialty foods that will be offered through July 4. This includes a BBQ hot link sandwich. Over at Wonderground Gallery, artists Ryan Riller (June 10) and Larissa Marantz (June 17) will be doing signings. The Black-owned food truck Happy Ice will serve their signature water ice desserts at Downtown Disney District from June 9 to July 4.
