No More ‘National Treasure’ – Disney+ Series Cancelled After One Series

There will be no more of the National Treasure series that debuted last December. Disney has cancelled National Treasure: Edge of History after one season.

The series follows the adventures of Jess Venezuela (Lisette Olivera), a DREAMer who is looking for answers to her family. This also turns out to be a treasure hunt focused on lost Pan-American treasure that is connected to her legacy. She was joined by actors Lisette Olivera, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker, and Lyndon Smith in the series.

National Treasure: Edge of History was executive produced by National Treasure (film) producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turteltaub and writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley. It was also executive produced by Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, and Rick Muirragui, who also served as a writer on the series.

The cancellation of the series comes as Disney doubles down with its focus on quality of quantity. In an interview with TIME recently, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that Disney wouldn’t be just focusing on fewer and bigger projects, instead Iger said it would be “Fewer, better.”

There have been other series that have been cancelled recently of other Disney+ series as well. This includes Big Shot, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Diary of a Future President and Turner & Hooch.
