Guests visiting Disneyland on Friday were able to ride it’s a small world in its traditional form for the first time in 2023. The attraction had been it’s a small world Holiday since November and closed as the holidays ended earlier in the month. Disney then swiftly removed the holiday lights and decorations to return the attraction to its traditional state. Daps Magic team member Angela stopped by it’s a small world on its reopening day on January 20, 2023 to get video of this classic attraction.

it’s a small world Reopening Day 2023

it’s a small world originally opened at Disneyland on May 28, 1966. The attraction has nearly 300 dolls that represent children from around the globe. They are all singing this iconic song of peace, written by Richard and Robert Sherman, in their native languages. The attraction originally was created for the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair. The attraction’s development was personally overseen by Walt Disney in support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). After being popular for two seasons at the New York World’s Fair, the attraction made its way to Disneyland.

For decades it has been a fan favorite and its popularity has led to it being recreated at other Disney theme parks around the globe. It is said that the sun never sets on it’s a small world as somewhere in the world the attraction is open and its song is being sung.
