In the summer of 2023, the Disney Cruise Line will celebrate its 25th anniversary. From May through September 2023, all five of the Disney Cruise Line ships will be the Silver Anniversary at Sea. There will be special entertainment, food, merchandise, and other things to experience throughout this celebration. Today, the Disney Cruise Line announced some exciting ways that it will be celebrating this milestone with guests who cruise this summer.
Fireworks
The Disney Cruise Line was the first cruise line to have a fireworks program at sea in 1998. This magical experience has continued for the last 25 years. For the Silver Anniversary at Sea, a new fireworks show will be offered on select Disney Cruise Line itineraries.
The new fireworks show is created specifically to honor the 25th anniversary of the Disney Cruise Line. It will be a limited-time “evening extravaganza” that will continue the Disney tradition of fireworks and also will honor Disney’s continuing legacy of adventure. This show will include “tunes of iconic and beloved Disney music, and anchoring the show will be a brand-new signature song created especially for the Silver Anniversary at Sea.“
This special fireworks extravaganza will be offered on most Bahamian, Caribbean, and Mediterranean cruises this summer.
Soiree
The Captain’s Reception is a tradition of all cruises and also the Disney Cruise Line for the last 25 years. As part of the Silver Anniversary at Sea, this tradition is being reimagined into a celebratory experience that will have an extra dose of magic. On one evening of each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain and cruise director for an anniversary toast in the atrium. This special celebratory experience will also include appearances by Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse, who will be dressed in the silvery best for the occasion. There will also be a rendition of the Silver Anniversary at Sea theme song performed.
Limited-Edition Castaway Club Gift
Anyone who has cruised with the Disney Cruise Line before can be a part of the Castaway Club, which recognized returning guests to the Disney Cruise Line with both exclusive rewards and also perks. For the Silver Anniversary at Sea Castaway Club members will be receiving a limited-edition framed art print in their stateroom. It will commemorate this celebration and be available while supplies last. The artwork, as shown above, was created by Disney artist Joe Kaminski. His art can be found in The Art of Disney galleries, Disney resort hotels, and also Disney Cruise Line ships. One 11×14 framed print will be delivered per stateroom during the celebration.
