Disney has released concept art for a new establishment coming to Disneytown at Shanghai Disney Resort. Donald’s Dine n’ Delights will be hosted by Donald Duck himself. This bistro will be serving freshly baked specialty pizza made by the in-house pizza chef, over-the-top milkshakes and rich sundaes in a variety of flavors, and whimsical desserts all in a charming, Parisian-style garden setting.
A marquee over the entrance of this restaurant will show Donald Duck in his chef outfit welcoming everyone. The exterior of the restaurant will feature a domed building of glass and brass highlights that will be shaded by trees. This will make for lovely outdoor seating during the day. Disney shared that the “Art Nouveau-style serves as inspiration for the whimsical details adorning the glass and decorative ironwork.” In the evenings, the glow from inside this quaint cafe will remind guests of “The City of Light.”
Donald Duck may be the chef at this restaurant, but Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy, his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and also Chip & Dale will all be represented throughout the interior. There will be oval framed art features of the iconic group of friends hung prominently over booths and table. This will create both a casual and urban sophisticated atmosphere.
Even more exciting is the ceiling mural that is purported to be “breathtaking!” This is a colorful piece of artwork that shows Donald and friends sharing a happy moment.
At this point, an exact timeline for the opening of Donald’s Dine n’ Delights has not been shared. All that is known is that it is coming and this is the concept for it.
