A new projection show is now lighting up the exterior of Spaceship Earth nightly at EPCOT. This holiday show has the song When We’re Together from Olaf’s Frozen Adventure with accompanying lighting effects on Spaceship Earth and some of the area around it. These projection shows were first unveiled as Beacons of Magic as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. Icons in each of the four main Walt Disney World Resort theme parks lit the night up with special light and projection shows. This included Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom, Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. At EPCOT, the evening light shows have gone through several iterations for special festivals at the parks. Most recently, as a part of the 40th anniversary of EPCOT, a special show celebrated four decades of the park.
For EPCOT’s 40th anniversary celebrations, the entry area of EPCOT also played classic EPCOT entrance music for several days instead of the normal background music loop.
The Spaceship Earth Beacon of Magic was an instant hit and highlight for the Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
