Magic Kingdom Transforms as Walt Disney World Resort Gets Ready for the Holidays

Halloween has just ended at Walt Disney World Resort but it has already transformed itself to bring on the holidays. The Magic Kingdom began its transformation almost immediately after the final guests left on Halloween night. This kicked off a multi-day transformation that will turn all four theme parks, more than 30 hotels, and other areas across the 40-square-mile resort into the merriest place on earth.

Christmas trees, colorful lights, and other decorations have been going up to help ring in the festive season with plenty of Disney magic added in as well. This includes a 65-foot tall Magic Kingdom Christmas tree. It is complete with thousands of lights and ornaments and welcomes guests to the park. There are plenty of holiday overlays to be found and Disney characters dressed up in the holiday best. There is also seasonal entertainment to be enjoyed.

Walk down Main Street, USA and check out the beautifully decorated shop windows. Do some window shopping and then head inside to do some Christmas shopping. In the evenings, snow falls down as guests move up and down Main Street, USA and get caught up in the spirit of the season.

This will also be the final year for guests to experience the holidays during the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort. Every night there will be special projections bringing even more magic on to select theme park icons. These will complement these icons as they become Beacons of Magic on select nights.
