Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may have arrived in theaters today, but there was no shortage of excitement to be had around the film at Avengers Campus. The new Black Panther and M’Baku joined the Dora Milaje at Avengers Campus for a limited-time celebration. The arrival of the new Black Panther and M’Baku weren’t the only new experiences to be had from Wakanda at Avengers Campus, however. There is also now a Black Panther Celebration Garden near the Hyperion Theatre and also a Marketplace Booth for Disney Festival of the Holidays called Flavors of Wakanda. It serves African inspired foods.
Throughout the day, there were many opportunities to see the new Black Panther and also M’Baku. The new warrior who took on the role of Black Panther was introduced by the Dora Milaje in a special moment on the Avengers HQ in the morning. The new Black Panther could also be seen meeting and mingling with guests throughout the day and also with the Avengers at the end of Avengers Assemble.. In the afternoon, M’Baku made his appearance during M’Baku: The Way of the Jabari. During this session, M’Baku taught young warriors to be tribal leaders.
In the evening, as the sun went down, there was a special moment that was a tribute to King T’Challa, the former Black Panther in the Black Panther Celebration Garden. It served as a lighting moment for the garden but really was poignant.
There are also artifacts from the film and other things to be found from Wakanda in Avengers Campus and beyond. The limited-time celebration of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be running through January 8, 2022. What do you think of the different elements of the celebration? What is your favorite?
