Cultural Representatives Return to Walt Disney World Resort

One fun part of visiting Walt Disney World Resort, particularly EPCOT, is getting to experience different cultures from around the world. This is done quite often thanks to the Cultural Representative Program at Walt Disney World Resort. This program brings people from around the globe to Walt Disney World to come to be Cast Members for a limited time. These people then end up working around the resort. They are quite often most noticeable around World Showcase at EPCOT. There, they represent their countries of origin and bring the different countries of the World Showcase to life in a way that is far beyond attractions and pavilions. These Cast Members literally bring the culture of their country to the different pavilions and the result is magical.

Today it was announced that the first members of the Cultural Representative Program have begun returning to Walt Disney World Resort. This comes after the program was suspended during the pandemic. The following post was put on social media by the Walt Disney World Ambassadors:

Today we welcomed the first group of Cultural Representatives to return to Walt Disney World! ✨ This means all Disney Programs at Walt Disney World are officially back! A warm welcome awaited Disney Programs participants as they checked in at Flamingo Crossings Village to start their journey as Cast Members. We are so excited to have you here and can’t wait to welcome back even more participants from around the world in the coming weeks! 🌏 #DisneyPrograms #DisneyCastLife

Here is the official description for the Cultural Representative Program:

The Cultural Representative Program plays an important role in helping us create immersive experiences and transport guests to another place. To qualify for this program, you must be at least 18 years of age and authentically represent one of the countries or regions that has inspired our resorts, pavilions, and theme parks.

Some roles (as indicated) may be part of a country pavilion. We recruit friendly, outgoing, hospitality-oriented people to represent their cultures, traditions, and history of their country. Participants have the chance to greet and interact with people from across the globe all while sharing their own heritage. Participants will also contribute greatly to our overall guest experience across the Walt Disney World® Resort, including the Kidcot Fun Stop.
