“Thor: Love and Thunder” Starts Strong at Box Office

Thor: Love and Thunder had a strong opening at the box office this weekend. Domestically, it brought in $143 million. Internationally it also had a solid weekend as it brought in $159 million. This brings the total tally for the weekend up to $302 million.

According to EntTelligence, the newest Thor movie brought in about 10 million patrons to theaters. They made up 57% of those who visited theaters this weekend.

This strong opening weekend puts Thor: Love and Thunder as the 12th strongest opener for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It comes in after Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2, which brought in $146.5 million domestically.

Following Thor: Love and Thunder at the box office was Minions: The Rise of Gru, which brought in $45.55 million in its second weekend in theaters. This was followed by Top Gun: Maverick and then Elvis.
