A Tour of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel Before Pixar Makeover

The Disneyland Resort recently announced that Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will be receiving a Pixar makeover. When it does, the art and inspiration of Pixar will be found throughout the third hotel at the Disneyland Resort. Ahead of this makeover, the DAPS MAGIC team stopped by Paradise Pier to document what it looked like right after the announcement. Another tour will be taken once the makeover has happened. Below are videos and photos taken by DAPS MAGIC team member Angela on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Note that there are already some hints at what is to come when entering the hotel.

What is now Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel originally opened in 1984 as the Emerald Hotel of Anaheim. It would later become the Pan Pacific Hotel. In 1995, Disney purchased the property and renamed it the Disney Pacific Hotel. It received its current name in 2001 when it looked over what was then called Paradise Pier in Disney California Adventure. The announcement that it be re-themed to a Pixar artwork theme was made on April 27, 2022.
