Today Disney teased the return of hugs with characters. In a post on social media, the social distancing barrier is removed between the camera and Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse then beckons the camera closer and indicates a hug while nodding yes. The hashtags for the post indicate that traditional meet and greets could be returning to Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Aulani, and the Disney Cruise Line.
A comment below the description indicates that more specifics will be arriving tomorrow, March 31.
It isn’t known if these teased meet and greets will be exactly the same as before the pandemic or if they will be modified. Recently Tinker Bell returned to her home at Pixie Hollow where she is again meeting guests. While the experience is similar to before the pandemic, she does have a barrier between her and the guests who are visiting.
DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow this story and provide updates as they become available. What do you think about the return of traditional character meet and greets? Do you think it is time?
