Welcome to the DISNEY Reporter! Each week the top 5 Disney and geek headlines are shared for an overview of what is going on in both worlds. This week after being on hiatus for a couple of weeks, there were plenty of stories to choose from.
First off, this last weekend Disneyland hosted its annual Candlelight Ceremony again. This comes after a year break due to the pandemic. This year’s celebrity narrator was Sterling K. Brown, who did a fantastic job. This holiday tradition is beloved by many and often considered the real start of the holiday season for many in attendance. Another holiday tradition finally has opened as well. “it’s a small world” Holiday opened on Monday, December 6, 2021, after undergoing repairs the last few weeks.
Looking to the future, Disney made multiple announcements this week about 2022. First off, Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be returning in the spring. Along with this festival, the Lunar New Year celebration will also be returning to Disney California Adventure in 2022. At the corporate level, it was announced this week that Susan Arnold will be taking over as Chairman of the Board for The Walt Disney Company effective December 31, 2021.
