For years part of visiting Walt Disney World Resort has been getting and using a MagicBand. As part of the 50th Anniversary announcements, the upgraded MagicBand+ was revealed. Today at the Destination D23 event it was announced by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro that Walt Disney World Resort wouldn’t be the only place getting the MagicBand+ Technology. The Disneyland Resort will also be receiving this wearable tech. The MagicBand+ technology will be arriving at the Disneyland Resort sometime in 2022.
MagicBand+ will allow guests to interact with their surroundings like never before. When announced, Disney said MagicBand+ can make magic with Disney Fab 50 Character Collection, light up during fireworks show, and be utilized in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. There will be different experiences at Disneyland for the MagicBand+ to interact with.
Along with MagicBand+, the “Hey Disney!” collaboration between Amazon and Disney will be arriving at the Disneyland Resort. The voice assistant will be found at Disneyland Resort hotels and complimentary for guests staying at them.
