The next film in the Fantastic Beasts series now has a release date. Warner Bros. has announced that Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be arriving in theaters on April 15, 2022.
The film will star Jude Law as Dumbledore and Eddie Redmayne will again portray as Newt Scamander. This time around, Mads Mikkelsen will play the Gellert Grindelwald, the villain previously portrayed by Johnny Depp. They will be joined by Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, William Nadylam, and Katherin Waterston.
The Secrets of Dumbledore will have Dumbledore recognizing that Grindelwald is out to take over the wizarding world. He tasks Newt Scamander to take a team on a dangerous mission where they will face both new and old beasts, along with Grindelwald’s followers that continue to grow in numbers and strength.
The movie is directed by David Yates, who also directed 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and 2018’s The Crimes of Grindelwald. This is the third movie of three in the series. The screenplay for it was written by J.K. Rowling and the script was by Rowling and Steve Kloves.
