James Marsden and Idina Menzel are returning to be in the sequel for Enchanted called Disenchanted. In the first movie, Marsden played Prince Edward and Menzel played Patrick Dempsey’s character named Robert’s girlfriend Nancy Tremaine. By the end of the movie, the two become a pair and run off together to Andalasia.
It has been previously reported that both Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey would be returning for Disenchanted. Now, thanks to an interview with composer Alan Menken, it is known that Marsden and Menzel are returning to join the cast.
In a recent interview with JLGB Virtual’s YouTube channel for a youth-led interview, Menken confirmed the casting saying, “It’s really good. I don’t think I’m allowed [to say much]. It’s filming. Amy Adams is in it. Patrick is in it. Idina Menzel is in it. James Marsden — they’re in it.”
Disenchanted continues to be worked on and will be arriving on Disney+ when completed. It is being directed by Emmy nominee Adam Shankman with screenwriters including Rita Hsiao, Jessie Nelson, J. David Stem, and David N. Weiss.
