The Walt Disney World Resort has announced that its 50th Anniversary celebration will begin on October 1, 2021. Being called, The World’s Most Magical Celebration, this 18-month celebration will include new experiences at all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, and beyond! EARidescent decor will magically appearing, and Cinderella Castle will have even more magic added to its recent makeover with new gold bunting, sparkling golden embellishments, a 50th anniversary crest as part of the festivities.

Nightly Beacons of Magic
Each night during the 50th anniversary celebration, icons at each of The Walt Disney World Resort theme parks will be transformed into “Beacons of Magic” as they come to life with their own EARidescent magic.
Cinderella Castle will illuminate Magic Kingdom with a dazzling radiance that sparkles with pixie dust.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, a warm light will emanate from the Tree of Life as magical fireflies gather to usher in the magic of nature.
The Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be awash in a brilliance evoking the golden age of imagination and adventure.
And at EPCOT, new lights will shine across the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth, connecting to one another in a symbol of optimism resembling stars in a nighttime sky. The iconic structure’s permanent new lighting will continue beyond “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” as a defining feature of the park.

New Outfits for Mickey & Minnie
Mickey and Minnie will be the hosts of The World’s Most Magical Celebration. As part of this honorary role, they will be dressed up in sparkling new outfits that were custom-made just for the occasion. The designs include embroidered impressions of Cinderella Castle that are backed by fireworks. There is also a multi-toned brocade in EARidescent fabric. Because it is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, there are pops of gold as well.

A big focal point of the 50th Anniversary celebration will be the Cast Members of Walt Disney World. Disney is touting that they will again show how it is the cast members that really go above and beyond to make The Most Magical Place on Earth just that.
