Disney’s Magical Express Ending Service at Walt Disney World in 2022

Disney’s Magical Express will be ending its service at the Walt Disney World Resort starting on January 1, 2022. With more alternatives now available to get to the resort, Disney says there is less of a demand for the bus service.

In a statement, a Disney spokesperson said, “As consumer needs and preferences change, we will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express service starting with arrivals in 2022. At the same time, we’re also introducing new ways for guests to enjoy their visits, including early theme park entry for Disney Resort hotel guests.”

The change should not impact Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests in 2021. However, guests wishing to visit in 2022 will need to be looking for alternative ways to get from the airport to their Disney hotel. Resort transportation with Walt Disney World Resort will continue to be offered free of charge. This includes the Disney Skyliner, Monorails, and buses to and from hotels and the parks.

  1. Considering that they halted the Disneyland Express from area Airports to Disneyland Resort a few years back, it would make sense that they would eventually have cancelled it to WDW. Disappointing, but with the current market and having to cut cost, something that could be foreseen as it was really no cost to the guests.

  2. I hate that they are ending it. Every time we go to Disney we have used it and i will miss it tremendously. There is always long lines too at the airport so I’m guessing a lot of people will be sad.

  3. This makes me very sad. When we come as a family to WDW, we have many people. Last time it was 8 people, before that it was 10 people. What are we going to do for transportation to our hotel? We cant all fit in a taxi with all the people and luggage! We loved the Magical Express, it was our first glimpse of fun. We could all talk about what we wanted to do first, what we wanted most to eat, look at the park brochures and get a game plan together. The kids enjoyed the video on the bus, helped them get amped up for fun! The ride back to the airport with the whole family is just as special. All together talking about the great times, the great food, the pixie dust experience from cast members! What a great time we had! Planning our next visit! What we will do on our next Disney vacation on the Magical express bus!
It would be a sad day to not have this part of the Disney Experience! It is tradition!
Please do not take this away! We love this part just as much as the theme parks!
Please, please do not discontinue this part of our WDW Experience!
    Thank you,
    Cindy Towery
