DuckTales Season 3

Rebooted DuckTales to End Run After Three Seasons

The rebooted DuckTales that arrived on the Disney XD in 2017 will be ending after three seasons. Today, Disney confirmed this news about the reboot of the 1980’s Disney Afternoon classic.

“The talented creative team, led by Matt Youngberg and Francisco Angones, have delivered exceptional storytelling with uniquely reimagined characters for three seasons of 75 episodes and more than 15 shorts,” Disney representatives said in a statement. “While physical production has wrapped, DuckTales continues to be available daily on Disney Channels and Disney+ around the world and fans will get an epic season finale in 2021.”

Through the course of its run, DuckTales didn’t just bring back Scrooge McDuck and the gang, it also brought back some other fan favorites from the Disney Afternoon, like Darkwing Duck, Goofy, and Don Karnage! It took the premise of the old show and added to it with new adventures and topics. While doing this, it skillfully straddled the line between keeping things fresh and moving forward while also being reverential to the original.

There will be a few new episodes in 2021 before the show says goodbye. The first two seasons currently can be watched also on Disney+.
