In 2013, Disney announced a whole new way to unlock the magic! MagicBands give guests the power to unlock rooms, access attractions through FastPass+, and even capture their PhotoPass photos! In a new link on shopDisney, it was announced that the MagicBand system would be coming to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii!
While there are not a lot of details about this expansion yet, we can assume that this new system will help families have a smooth vacation! We can assume based on how it works in Walt Disney World, the bands will work as a room key for guests visiting the resort. The bands will most likely also work as a PhotoPasscard. Overall, it is shocking that the resort did not implement sooner!
Overall, I think this is a fantastic addition to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii! Unfortunately, Disney has announced that they will no longer be sending complimentary MagicBands for families planning vacations, so if you would like a band, be sure to buy one here!
