Disney+ Testing Watch Party Feature

Disney+ is testing a watch party feature which would allow Disney+ viewers to invite up to six other people to watch a program on Disney’s streaming service simultaneously. The feature, called GroupWatch, appeared on a Disney subreddit first and then began to show up elsewhere on the internet.

Currently, the GroupWatch feature is being tested in Canada. The Verge confirmed this and also reported that the feature will be getting a wider release later this fall. It will be available on any program listed on Disney+ for subscribers to utilize together. The feature will accessed through an icon on the page for the program being watched.

Currently there are other third party tools that can allow groups to watch a show together on various streaming service. Amazon Prime also recently released its Watch Party feature to allow Amazon Prime subscribers to invite up to 100 of their other Amazon Prime subscribing friends to watch something together.

When exactly the GroupWatch feature will be released by Disney+ currently has not been announced by Disney+. DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow this story and provide updates as they are available.
