Knott’s Berry Farm is now offering a Taste of Knott’s! This food festival allows guests to explore most of the park while enjoying a wonderful variety of flavors. On Sunday, the DAPS MAGIC team was invited to experience a Taste of Knott’s for this hosted day at the park. The DAPS MAGIC team always enjoys the food at Knott’s Berry Farm and a full day dedicated to that was definitely a treat!
Before You Go and Arriving
Before getting into the food (which was very enjoyable), let’s get into the environment at Knott’s Berry Farm during this new era of COVID-19. First things first, you cannot buy tickets at the door. They must be purchased ahead of time. They are $30 and can be purchased on the Knott’s Berry Farm website. Tickets are for specific days. On the specified day, show up and park for free. Then put a face covering on! Face coverings should be worn in a way that covers both the mouth and nose (announcements are made in the park throughout the day). They must remain on through the visit except when dining at a table or when inside the designated RelaxZone. Other than this, the face-covering must remain on.
When walking up, guests will be asked some health and safety questions for COVID-19 screening. Next temperatures will be taken. Finally, guests go through the security checkpoint. Once all of this has been completed, they will be able to enter the park at the main gate. All of this is done to help maintain the safety of both the guests at Knott’s Berry Farm and also those who work there.
Inside the Park
Knott’s Berry Farm does a fantastic job with safety in the parks. Because of this, the Taste of Knott’s event really can be enjoyable. The staff makes every effort to be kind and courteous. This is shown throughout the event when guests are getting food, having tables cleaned, interacting with entertainment, or even being asked to keep a face covering over a face. All of this makes for a wonderfully relaxing environment. It also made for high compliance of face coverings inside the park.
Throughout the parks, there are tables from which to enjoy the offerings of Taste of Knott’s. Each grouping of tables has employees on hand to clean them off within moments of guests getting up from eating at them. This added to the sense that Knott’s is taking safety seriously and made it easier to relax as well.
Various forms of entertainment can be found around the park as well. This includes some atmosphere entertainment, Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies on a big LED screen and even a magician. While they aren’t necessarily the central draw for Taste of Knott’s, these offerings added a lot to the day and were very fun to watch and interact with (yes, they interact).
The Food
The food is the real star for Taste of Knott’s. There are 35 dishes being offered throughout the park (listed below). There is something for everyone to enjoy. There are different flavors to be found and in our group, there were different favorites. Some highlights from the DAPS MAGIC team included:
- Deep Fried Boysenberry Pie Bites with Powdered Sugar
- Crinkle Chips with Beer Cheese Dip
- Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwich with Onion Strings and Arugula
- Hatch Chili Mac and Cheese
- White Bean and Chicken Chili on Jasmine Rice with a Boysenberry Cornbread Muffin
- Esquites (Corn Kernels with Mayo, Cheese, Cayenne Pepper, and Butter)
The Deep Fried Boysenberry Pie Bites with Powdered Sugar and the Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwich with Onion Strings and Arugula were the top two favorites in the group. The Crinkle Chips with Beer Cheese Dip was also very enjoyable. However, everything noted above were favorites of the team.
Beyond the favorites, there were a lot of other enjoyable dishes to be found at Taste of Knott’s. They weren’t just delicious though, they were generous in portion size. Bring an appetite!

The DAPS MAGIC team universally agreed that this is an event that is best done together. Go with someone else that is willing to share the dishes at Taste of Knott’s. The dishes are easily large enough to share. This will allow for more dishes to be tried. Know this, it is a LOT of food. It is a good thing that the event lasts for more than just a couple of hours. It gives guests the opportunity to pace themselves.
Final Thoughts
Taste of Knott’s is a very enjoyable event. It is definitely worth going more than once as there is just so many good food options to experience there. On top of the food, because of the way that the event is situated outside, it is a good place to go and be and do something fun and feel safe. The Knott’s team really does deserve a hat tip for working to create a safe environment. On top of all of this, the entertainment (especially Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies) added to the entire day. It really is a lot of fun and also quite delicious!
