Welcome Back – DISNEY Reporter

Welcome to the DISNEY Reporter! After a brief hiatus for holidays and birthdays, we return with the weekly highlights of Disney and geek news. There is a LOT to cover this week. However, we narrow it down as much as we possibly.

First off, there have been quite a few reopenings since our last report. Walt Disney World Resort is reopening Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom today. On Thursday, the Downtown Disney District reopened at the Disneyland Resort. Before that, Tokyo Disney Resort reopened both of its parks. DAPS MAGIC has been following and reporting on all of these reopenings. There have been lots of temperature checks, face masks, sanitation stations, and social distancing. For the most part, these things have all gone well and Disney has been successfully reopening its parks and venues.

There have been a couple of other things happening at the Disneyland Resort as well. It was announced that the current Disneyland Ambassadors, Justin Rapp and Rafa Barron will be staying in their roles for an extra year. Splash Mountain will be getting a retheme that will feature a new story based on The Princess and the Frog. And finally, CHOC Walk will be going virtual this year. We have further details on all of these stories that can be found in the links below.

Finally, Hamilton has arrived on Disney+ to rave reviews. This Broadway musical continues to be a phenomenon as more and more people get to view it thanks to Disney’s streaming service.

Those are the top headlines we have for you this week! Make sure and subscribe to DAPS MAGIC and also our YouTube channel. Share with us what you think the top story is this week in the comments! Stay safe, stay healthy, and we’ll see you in the parks!
