EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are now open again at the Walt Disney World Resort. These two parks joined Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening. With the reopening came a change of the way people waited in line (social distancing), saw Disney characters (from a distance), and also how Cast Members welcomed guests back (with fast coverings and physical plexiglass barriers). The result was a different experience for guests that was both magical but also safe.

For guests visiting EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios they found new safety guidelines in place. This included social distancing, a new system for virtual queues for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, new character experiences, and also cavalcades. Below is a look at what it was like on the reopening day at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Soles brillantes! While strolling along Batuu, we decided to check in on the Milk Stand at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see what sort of changes had been made since reopening. First off, a mobile ordering sign is placed out from the queue, letting guests scan the QR Code in order to place their order. The queue has social distancing markers in place, but guests aren’t lining up to wait to order with the mobile ordering in place. A Cast Member stands back by the start of the queue underneath the umbrellas to offer assistance and direct guests to head up to the counter when their orders are ready. Plexiglass barriers have been installed on the counters, as well as mobile ordering signs placed on the registers to alert guests which space to retrieve their milk from.#starwarsgalaxysedge#disneyshollywoodstudios#❣️🎢✨🏰❤️🎠🎡

Disney’s Hollywood Studios opened today and we were there for the action! 😃 Here are crowd shots taken at different times of the day. So far, we personally felt that Hollywood Studios was the most crowded park – as we wait to experience EPCOT tomorrow. Wait times were higher than MK & AK most all day and there were crowded areas (Galaxy’s Edge & Toy Story Land) that we tried to avoid if at all possible as social distancing was difficult. We were able to ride everything we wanted to 👍🏻 and despite hiccups with the app for Rise of Resistance virtual queue, we were able to ride Rise before the queue filled up for the day! Overall a good day. Just a little surprised by the capacity/crowd control in certain areas. #disneyshollywoodstudios #wdw . . . #disneyworld #disney #waltdisney #waltdisneyworld #disneygram #instadisney #disneylove #disneyfan #ilovedisney #disneylife #disneyparks #disneyphoto #disneyaddict #waltdisneyworldresort
