Walt Disney World Resort Quietly Announces Upcoming Closures in Epcot Ahead of D23 Expo

This week, Walt Disney World Resort has quietly announced a few changes coming to the beloved Epcot. Most of the changes will be tanging place in Future World, as an epic transformation begins. The changes will all be official just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021! These changes include everything from a new pavilion to a sparkling new entrance.

While we don’t know what the future holds for these upcoming closures, we are sure that we will find out at D23 Expo next month! Here are when you can expect to see Epcot’s closures.

September 8

  • Fountain of Nations
  • Art of Disney will relocate to Heritage Manor in the American Adventure
  • Innoventions East (Colortopia and Nanooze Break exhibits)
  • Character Spot
  • Club Cool
  • Pin Central will operate from Camera Central temporarily

Late Fall

  • Fountain View featuring Starbucks will relocate to a temporary location in late Fall

Late Winter

  • Electric Umbrella

While it is always hard to say goodbye to things we love, we can’t wait to see what it to come in this epic transformation of Epcot! While we don’t know what is coming for sure @WDWToday on Twitter has announced that we should be keeping our eyes and ears open at this year’s D23 Expo!
