Shanghai, July 19, 2019 – The Disney Inspiration Run is set to return to Shanghai Disney Resort for the third time this October, bringing with it unique autumn fun and Halloween surprises for the whole family. The 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run will take place on the weekend of October 19 – 20 and will see the return of the 3.5km and 5km courses, the much-loved Kids Run, and a whole host of Disney characters – including a number of special seasonal Disney villains. Building on the huge popularity of the spring event, the resort will host the Kids Run on both Saturday and Sunday of the run weekend, offering more capacity each day, enhanced entertainment, and more chances for families to enjoy this magical experience together. Throughout the weekend, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes, get active, and most importantly, enjoy themselves!
The 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run will give guests the chance to dress up as their favorite Disney heroes and villains before lacing up their sneakers and setting out on an exciting run, jog or a walk with their families through an autumnal Shanghai Disney Resort clad in spooky seasonal decorations.
During the run weekend, infamous Disney villains such as The Evil Queen, Maleficent and a number of ghost pirates are expected to join Mickey and his pals and a whole host of other surprise characters from Disney, Disney·Pixar, and Marvel to line each course, cheer guests on, pose for pictures, and deliver a truly unforgettable experience. Little ones looking to get in on the fun can also enjoy special appearances by Chip ‘n’ Dale and Donald and Daisy Duck in their favorite Halloween costumes along the Kids Run.
The 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run will feature a 3.5km and 5km course as well as a Kids Run, and each event will be designed to immerse runners of all ages in Shanghai Disney Resort’s scenic landscape from start to finish:
Public registration for the 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run will open at 10:00 a.m. on August 22 and places will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. From August 1, participants can visit the official Disney Inspiration Run website for more details about registration, the weekend’s fun activities, and special early bird offers.
Starting 10:00 a.m. on August 8, participants will be able to pre-enter their information. From August 8 through August 21, or until all spots are filled, participants will also be able to purchase a limited number of special packages to help them secure a spot in the event of their choice before registration opens to the public. The packages will include a discounted stay at either the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel or the Toy Story Hotel during the race weekend, as well as two spots in either the 3.5km or 5km course, or one spot in the Kids Race and one spot in another event of the guest’s choice.
Guests who purchase a premier package will also be presented with a unique customized medal after their chosen event as well as a number of other exclusive surprises. These packages will be available for purchase via the official 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run website from 10:00 a.m. on August 8 through 22:00 on September 27, or until all spots are filled.
In addition to a weekend full of fun, healthy activities, participants can also enjoy special discounts on a range of experiences throughout the resort, including approximately 30% off a ticket to the Mandarin production of the Beauty and the Beast musical on select dates in October, and special rates for brunch at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel’s Lumiere’s Kitchen on select weekends. Guests are encouraged to follow the resort’s official WeChat account for more special offers.
Every participant that crosses the finish line during the run weekend will receive a unique and memorable Disney character-themed medal. The 3.5km medal will feature a running Donald, while the 5km medal will feature a Pirate-themed Mickey. Young participants crossing the finish line of the Kids Run will be presented with a brightly colored medal featuring Chip ’n’ Dale in Halloween costumes.
