‘Avengers: Endgame’ Has Highest Ever Domestic Preview

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame earned $60 million domestically in Thursday evening previews, ahead of its official North American debut today. This surpasses the previous record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015 ($57 million domestic).

The film is off to a record-breaking start around the world, posting an estimated $305 million worldwide in its first two days, and registering all-time industry single-day highs in China (including midnights), Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, The Philippines, Korea (admissions), UK, Brazil, Egypt, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Trinidad and Uruguay. Avengers: Endgame now has the highest all-time industry opening day in Indonesia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, Bosnia/Herz, Czech Republic, Serbia (non-local), Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine. China leads all markets with over $154 million in two days, including its record-setting opening day of $107.2 million. In IMAX theaters, Avengers: Endgame has set opening day records in 38 markets, including China, France, Germany, Taiwan, Brazil and Argentina.

Avengers: Endgame’s 96 percent Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes is the second highest ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), behind only Black Panther’s 97 percent, and the ninth MCU release to surpass 90 percent. The film’s first two trailers are the most-viewed in history in their first 24 hours, and fan anticipation remains high with many theaters screening the film around the clock to meet demand.

In addition to its North American opening, Avengers: Endgamedebuts today in Mexico, Spain, India and Japan, as well as South Africa, Vietnam, Venezuela and Ecuador, with a release in Russia still to come on April 29.
